Meet our team
Penny Light, Founder
Penny lived in Costa Rica for 6 years, where she founded a transformative adventure travel company - Live Life Light Adventures. When she returned to Canada for a visit, the world shut down, the travel industry came to a screeching halt, and she was forced to pivot hard.

It was while shopping for a new Canadian weather appropriate wardrobe (all she owned were bathing suits & flip flops) she became disappointed in the Canadian retail landscape for women.
So out of frustration, and in the middle of a global pandemic, Penny launched Grit & Grace. She wanted to curate unique, high quality clothing for women just like her. And to create a space where they'd feel welcome and confident in their own skin. She wants Grit & Grace to feel less like a store and more like the home of a great friend. It's why our stores have a cozy, living-room style seating area - so we can all gather, connect & lift each other up. And sometimes even sip rose!

Allison is our store manager at Grit & Grace Guelph. Find her drinking a cup of coffee at any time of the day. She's a self-taught sewer, amateur roller-skater, and part-time sunset chaser. She's inspired by clothing, textiles, colours, and the unique stylish people who come into Grit & Grace everyday. She's always ready to help you find THE outfit that helps you feel like your best self!

Charley is a native of Grey Bruce. You'll often find this beach-loving cutie soaking up the sun at Sauble beach. Fun fact: Charley used to be a ballerina and dreams of living in Brazil someday. She has a passion for fashion but is a self professed science geek. Charley is an always-smiling soul, and is bound to brighten your day!
